Many of our data feeds share common features such as the main text, the creation time, the author, and frequently links to other online content. The Interaction data source groups these features together to make it easier to write generic queries across all the feeds.
In addition, every Interaction object that you receive includes the name of the feed it came from, such as Twitter, Digg, Myspace, or Facebook. It's easy to store the data from a DataSift stream and drill down later.
Example Use Case:
You create a stream to gauge sentiment about a new marketing campaign and you need to spread your net wide, collecting content from all the social media sites you can. Then you decide to modify the stream to monitor sentiment on Twitter only, for purposes of comparison. These tasks are easy to accomplish using the Interaction augmentation.
