Beyond answering what people say about retirement, and the sentiment behind it, these platforms also uncover who is influencing the conversation and the techniques they use to do it with an innovative Retirement Influence Score (RIS) that identifies and tracks the top 100 social influencers of retirement conversations.

Natural Disaster Dashboard

Measures the effectiveness of social campaigns in the awareness, impact, and recovery phases of a natural disaster.
Calculating a composite Social Impact score, this dashboard compares all leading P&C providers across social dimensions in each phase of a disaster. It enhances property damage models by putting conversations in context of the impacted communities to better manage claims exposure in those areas. Cognizant clients also benefit from advisors who are armed with access to the rich social data that powers these applications. Using flexible visualization dashboards, consultants in the insurance practice group are investigating this social data and mining it for relevant and unique insights.

Project Requirements

Cognizant saw an opportunity to bring valuable consumer context to the insurance and retirement services industries by tapping into the, previously largely ignored, social channel. To accomplish this they were looking for a data partner that could help them build a platform solution and institutionalize a methodology for developing insights from social data. Specifically one that had: * A broad base of social data source content * Historical social data * Robust service offerings * Experience solving similar needs in other industries

DataSift was able to not only simplify data aggregration from Twitter and Facebook Public, but also provide the enrichments, like sentiment and demographics, that enable Cognizant to calculate their proprietary influencer scores. With historical data available within the same API, and refined with the same filters, as the real-time feed they consume within their applications, it’s easy for them to find the data they need when they need it.

Supportive Services.

Our services team helped Cognizant extend into new markets and new offerings. Having built Social Prism for Retirement and developing a proprietary algorithm to determine influence score within that industry, Cognizant enlisted DataSift services to further test and refine that algorithm and then apply it to an emerging conversation around Long Term Care.

Partner Ecosystem.

Leveraging our partnership with Tableau, our services team provided training and guidance to enable consultants to investigate social data directly on behalf of their individual clients. With the addition of this capability, Cognizant customers now benefit from both industry wide insights within Social Prism applications, and creative, custom approaches to their specific needs from their advisors.
